UPCOMING EVENTS
Continuation of our study/discussion of the book The Mulligan, by Wally Armstrong and Ken Blanchard. We normally go golfing after our meetings. Other summer events will be a family picnic and guest speakers.

OUR STORY
The Triangle Links Fellowship was chartered in December of 2001 having evolved from a monthly Bible Study group of eight men. It has grown to an active membership of about 36 men. Most are members of the Prestonwood Country Club senior golfers association. We try to extend an invitation to join our fellowship to any new member of the seniors golf group and continue to invite anyone who has never attended a meeting. The basic idea is to have a fellowship with a light Bible study that may be instrumental in getting some persons back into a church if they are not presently attending one. We also benefit on the golf course as raw language seems to subside when other seniors know they are among persons who attend the Links Fellowship.

We meet the second Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m. We have coffee, juice, and light breakfast snacks before each meeting. We have used resources like a Navigator pamphlet "Thinking Like A Missionary" and the books In His Grip and The Mulligan, both co-authored by Wally Armstrong. Both of the books have companion study resources to aide discussion and assist application of each given lesson. The attendance at these meetings range from 12 to 25 men.

We try to have a guest speaker or an event every fourth meeting. We have had Wally Armstrong, Johnny Evans, Tom Randall, Ron Kanour, and David Goldmann as guest speakers during the past couple of years.

Wally has come to our fellowship several times, twice to conduct golf clinics and other times as a guest speaker followed by a round of golf. In addition to being a former touring professional he has a gift of sharing the gospel with his writings, his inspirational talks, and his golf clinics.

Johnny Evans is the area director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also leads a Bible study in Raleigh that has over 400 men in attendance each week and is the color commentator at North Carolina State University football broadcasts. He is a former quarterback and punter at NCSU and one of his sons is currently their starting QB.

Tom Randall is the current chaplain for the PGA Champions Tour. Prestonwood Country Club hosts a Champion Tour event each year, so our Links Fellowship is fortunate to have Tom as a speaker during that week.

Ron Kanour has broad experience in The Navigators organization.

David Goldmann was a missionary in Muslim countries in North Africa and has authored two books in recent years. One book is entitled Islam and the Bible and it details why the two faiths collide. He also has eight years experience with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

So, we have been blessed with many guest speakers, many of whom serve local churches.

Some events outside of our Monday Bible studies have been picnics and golf outings. We try to have one event each year to include spouses, children, and grandchildren. A women's Bible study group at Prestonwood participates and lends assistance at some events. A family picnic last November included a 'golf for all ages' event using SNAG equipment the Wally Armstrong invented. Several photos are attached to give an idea of what is involved.

In the fall of 2005 the Triangle Links Fellowship organized a three-day retreat at Pine Needles Resort in Pinehurst, NC. Other Links Fellowships from the mid-South were invited and Wally Armstrong was the highlight speaker. The trust of this retreat was to encourage the formation of new Links Fellowships and to introduce the "Pro Links" program for golf professionals. Over 40 persons attended including several professionals from nearby golf courses. A pro-am event involving seven teams enabled all participants to get to know one another.
