National Play Week is designed to engage the many Links Fellowships in sponsoring local golf events during the same week, September 19-26, 2010.
THE PLAN
The plan for the LPI National Play Week is to create
a common buzz across the country for playing golf together as Links Players. The Play Week dates coincide with the week of the PGA Tour Championship, when interest in golf is high.
Local events may be hosted by local Links Fellowships or individuals and may involve full-scale tournaments or simple
gatherings of several foursomes. They may include a meal for players together.
THE MOTIVATION
We do ask that a motivating factor be added to
the event, with the purpose being to raise funds for LPI and/or local compassion ministries in your area (“Kindling Compassion for the Poor and Needy” is the fourth aspect of the Links
Player’s mission). These funds may be raised by charging a designated amount above the greens fees for the day, or by employing various fundraising components to the game—for example,
mulligan tickets, hit-the-green chances, or tee sponsors.
