Frequently Asked Questions

What are Links Fellowship groups?

A Links Fellowship group is a local group of golfers who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.

How big is a Links Fellowship group?

These groups come in all sizes, from only a few to enough people to fill a golf course.

How does a Links Fellowship group get started?

The groups are formed by as few as two believers who begin meeting on a regular basis to encourage one another in their faith in Christ and their study of the Bible. In time, they invite more people to join them. Some groups begin by having a golf event, inviting a large number of people to join them right away.

If you are starting with a small group of people meeting on a weekly basis, we strongly recommend that you begin by using the Links Players Handbook, a six-week study on knowing the Word of God and encouraging one another inyour Links group. This book was written by Jim Sheard and Steve Arnold, and it is available by calling Links Players at 1-800-90LINKS.

How often do Links Fellowship groups meet?

Some groups meet weekly for Bible study and prayer. Often those who have met will then play a round of golf. Some groups meet monthly, with a meeting then golf. Other groups meet quarterly, sponsoring golf events, with meals and special speakers.

Does my group have to be connected to Links Players International?

The relationship between local Links Fellowship groups and Links Players International is an informal one. Links Players tracks all the local groups in a directory to assist people who inquire about a group in their area, or people who move or travel to a new area. Links Players also works to provide resources for local groups, including printed materials and studies, as well as possible speakers for events. Additionally, Links Players works to provide regional opportunities for Fellowship leaders to gather each year for organizational support and spiritual encouragement

Can Links Players International help me get started in forming a local group?

Links Players offers a small packet of information for starting a group in your area. Because there is no particular program for a Links group, the ideas are spiritual in nature and encourage leaders to explore a variety of possibilities to determine what might work best in their area.

Is the 1-800-90LINKS number available for information regarding Links Fellowship groups?

Yes! The 800 number is important for all kinds of contacts with Links Players. Be sure to call if you have a question about Links Fellowship groups, if you wish to change contact information for your group, or for resources you may desire for your Links Fellowship group. You can also initiate communication with Links Fellowship Director Randy Wolff through email at rwolff@linksplayers.com.
